Day 4: We did a couple of Museums. The first one was the Mormon Batttalion Museum. It was pretty cool and I learned more than I thought I would.
After you watch a little video history, they have a section with some old guns, journals, canons, and such.
Out front they had a cool covered wagon. The boys said that it would have been cool to ride in it to California...... (for about 5 min).
One section of the tour they have a little general store set up. They passed around an old Musket, Em thought it was pretty cool.
Outside they had an area where it showed how to make adobe bricks. So I taught Ay how to do it.
We even panned for gold!
Ay found a good piece.
Em found a great piece.
Even O found a piece
But then O found the best piece EVER! hahahahahahaha
Next we went to Balboa Park and went to the Air and Space Museum.
The boys met a couple of famous people.
Ay loves the Space Program, so he really enjoyed this place.
Then Ay was sooooo excited when he got to touch a tire that was off the Space Shuttle Atlantis.
"Mom this is from a REAL space shuttle, a REAL one!"
I loved this photo even more after I took it. They had all climbed in I took the photo and then I noticed the sign saying "only one person in at a time", hummm I wonder if 3 little people is the same as one big one?
This is Ay learning why planes can fly!
O decided to go on a little flight
After the museums we went to the ocean. We decided to walk along a little boardwalk and do some window shopping. Then we came around the corner and found the USS Midway. We were going to tour it the next day. So it was fun to walk around it.
I LOVE THE TREES IN CALIFORNIA. What I would give to have the flowering trees in NM
They have a really cool Maritime Museum by the Midway. It had an old pirate ship, 2 submarines, a tribal looking boat and some others. It was fun to walk by, but we didnt stop to tour them.
On the LONG walk back the little guy just couldnt take another step.
Couldn't resist, had to post another of the amazing trees. Not only is this one beauiful they are huge.
