Tent Rocks hike with family

For Spring Break I took my family and my folks to a place we have never been. Never even heard of it until I saw a painting of it actually. The best part was it was only 3 hrs away and well worth the drive. Tent Rocks is near Cochiti Lake. It is a 3 mile hike of amazing landscape.
Here is the gang, minus me because I of course, am behind the camera.

Loved this hill with all the little baby hoodoo's along the ridge.

These were the first "tent rocks" that we saw.
This rock looks like it will just roll off at any moment.
What an amazing tree, the roots made the neatest little hideout

Ay surfin the rock wave
O decided to hold up the rock

Love O's pose in this shot.... can you see him?

First site of the slot canyon

This rock was so amazing

This was one of my favorite shots. The sky was so blue and not a cloud in site.
This was another favorite

3 Amigo's
Someone took a bite out of this one
Oh look its me, I'm in a photo.

We saw meerkats! Or the guys trying to act like them.
Then O wanted to be one as well
This is a "where's waldo", I mean a "Where's Ay"
This is my dad, playing dead. What a goofball

Little butterfly who was found on the trail. Looks like it is made of stone

The colors in this photo are so much better in real life.
This view was amazing

I found a gnome in the mix of all the tents. Had to zoom in to get a good look at him.

The trail goes under this rock and you can almost stand up as you walk under it,
That is how big it is.

One of my favorites of the slot canyon

Our weekend rental

This is a panoramic shot of the view from the top of the canyon
This place is truly breathtaking. I am definatly going back again. It is so much bigger than it looks in photos. To think that is was made from a volcano and lots and lots of rain. Mother nature at her best thats for sure.
