Valentine's Day

There is only ONE day a year, that I can get away with pink, flowers, and hearts in my house. So I think because of the fact, I always go a little over board with it. But whatever, I'm a girl and I like it. Besides, the boys will only let me "get away" with it for a few more years anyway.
These are the pink roses from my dad, I thought they would start off this post perfectly.

These are the boys Valentine Lunches. I made pink bread in the breadmaker (this year I didnt do a heart shaped sandwich, just a pink sandwich), red drink, granola bar wrapped in red and of course red jello hearts. Oh, and there is also a love note from mom.

Last week we had a snow day (which the snow was gone and melted by 11:30) so I decided to make cookies. I have always wanted to know how to make the shiney color icing that just melts together. The boys did about 6 cookies each and then they moved on. I had a blast. I'm definatly doing them again!

Ay liked to cover the entire cookie with frosting!
Em is the perfectionist, they have to be perfect.
O would squeeze the icing out and then lick it off, over and over till the cookie was soggy.
FEB. 5th was the Chocolate Art Show and this was the 3rd year that we entered. The 1st 2 years I have (or Em and I) gotten 1st place so we were ready for another win. Ay decided he wanted to be on my team, so my cake decorating friend decided to team up with Em and try to beat me! Here is the "Volcano Island" that Dianne and Em made. I totally think this one should have won. The water looks amazing and the palm trees were great. Unfortuanly they didnt place, bummer.
Oh and I forgot to mention that it blew up! Well kind of, Em put a straw of powdered sugar in the back and then blew. A big POOF of white came out.

Here is the "Chocolate Campsite" that Ay and I made. We got 3rd! I'm still bummed about not winning but like my boys say "mom it wouldn't be fare if you won every time!"

Close up of Ay catching his fish that he made.
Everytime O sees the pictures of the table set he says "MOM, dinner's ready!"
So those were our little Valentine celebrations. They were sweet, sugary, and such fun.
