Cannon Beach 2010

We went and spent a week with my aunt in Oregon. Instead of heading straight to the beach we decided to spend a few days in Potland. We went and saw Lion King on Broadway, it was amazing. The boys loved it and it was SO much better than I thought it was going to be. We stayed at this great hotel called Hotel 50 right on the river. So after breakfast we went to see the boats and see if the draw-bridge would go up. The boys were so excited when it did. We rode the trolly and the MAC ate at some great places. And one of my friends took us to Voodoo Dounut after the Lion King Show.

They watched as this tug boat pushed a ton of sand down the river.

Here is the boys on the MAC, they rode it like they had done it for years. Public transportation is a treat for us, since Farmington kind of lacks in that area.

Then we headed to the Evergreen Air and Space Museum (for the 2nd time). Last time we only got to see the avation museum, so this time we did the space and avation. Ay LOVES the Blackbird and could not believe how big it was in "REAL LIFE".

O got to a point where he would stand in front of everything and say "cheese".

Here is a view of the Space Museum. They both crashed the Apolo Moon Lander and wanted a go at the shuttle but there was to many people.

I think this was called the Titun or something. It was 2 stories down and then went clear to the ceiling in this place. It was HUGE.

The boys learned to fly while we were there. They did a group flight and then Em and Ay went solo. It was fun because it was not very busy so they got to ride a few times.

This was the playground at the Air and Space. One looked like a rocket, one a helicopter and the other looked like a biplane.

the boys tried to pull the tank...... they didnt get to far.

I love this shot becasue they were talking about how big the jet was...... did they not notice the Spruce Goose in the background?!

Day 3- The Beach. We had such great weather so it made the trip just perfect.

Em found a jelly fish, it was dead so I let them "examine" it. O ended up sqishing it between his fingers and then put it down my shirt. I was jellied!

We went to Astoria to the little farmers market and got mini dounuts, carmel corn, flowers and jelly. We ate at Wet Dog, it is my favorite place for calamari. We also climbed the Astoria Column. We bought little airplanes to throw off the top.

This is the view of the Columbia from the top. I carried O up all 169 steps and it really winded me. At the top Ay threw his plane off and then said, "Uh mom I changed my mind, I dont want to be up here!" made me laugh.

A view from an overlook.

One day we went to Sea Side. This was our only cloudy rainy day. We went to the Aquarium, the Croc store, and the boys knocked me silly in the bumper cars.

The last day we rode the recumbant (fun cycles) 6 miles. I thought that I wouldn't be able to walk in the morning but I wasn't even sore.

O liked the sand but didnt like the ocean much. So O and I would stay in the dry sand and Em and Ay would play in the water or the wet sand.

THE END!
