We went camping this weekend to try out our new camper. It was great. Went to a little campground near Mancos which only took an hour to get there. Found the perfect spot, hung out, hiked and had fun.

O had a little friend there and it was cute because she played with his dino and he played with her doll.
Em and Jonah had to sleep in a tent to pass off the rest of thier Arrow of Light requirements.

A breakfast for champions- donuts, poptarts, granola bars, and banana's.
We decided to do a little 1 mile hike up to "Aspen Pond", it sounded like this beautiful place. This is what we found when we got there. Brown nasty water, a dead bat on the shore, just wasn't what I pictured in my head.
The kids threw rocks in it and ran around for a min, then we turned around and went back down. It was a nice walk anyway.

My dad always took us to the same campsite every time we went camping in the LaPlatas. Your photos make me want to camp in CO so bad!
So we took a hike last Saturday and it was pretty cool (actually sweltering hot) but you have to watch out so closely for fire ants it's such a bother. If the kids get even one bite it's serious cuz their legs swell up and they can't walk. Sad. We made it out with only five bites collectively. Can't wait till we move to Colorado! someday....
