Ay's Bionic Ear

Let me fill you in, just in case you missed it. About 2 months ago I got a call from the school that Ay had failed his hearing test and recommended that he see an Audiologist. So we found a great one in Durango that could get him in, in a week. She confirmed that he had significant hearing loss in his right ear. He can hear lower frequencies but has a major drop in the higher frequencies. She said he needed a hearing aid and that he could benifit from one. So about 3 weeks ago he had a mold done of his ear and today we went and had it fitted. The smile on his face when he could hear in surround sound was priceless. So here he is with all of his goodies. He got a great book about and elephant named Oliver, the title is "Oliver Gets A Hearing Aid", it is a great little book and it can with an elephant puppet.
Oh, we decided to call it his Bionic Ear because it sounds cooler.

They said that they had all kinds of colors to choose from, but when they went to order all the boys colors (blue and green) were out of stock. He wasn't into zebra or pink or purple so he went with a clear one. I think it is a good choice becuase you can see all of the wires and stuff. I also like it because you can hardly see it.

Here is his cool bag of goodies. Hearing Aid, case, batteries, battery cases, this little container that you can put a disk thing in and it takes out moisure, all kinds of stuff. Who knew a hearing aid would come with SO MUCH STUFF.
Here is the little bionic ear, safe in it's case for the night.
