Gingerbread Madness

I decided to make a REAL gingerbread house this year. So I started early, because I had no idea how long it would take. While in the middle of my mess the boys just couldn't take it anymore and decided they wanted to build them to. I think that we will do it again because it isnt even Thanksgiving yet. So these are some of my favorites from the building session.
Papa-T stopped by to see the progress on my house and got rangled in by the boys. Papa isnt one to just pass by on getting messy and creative. The boys loved it when he hung out for a bit.

He helped Ay construct a gingerbread jet. I dont believe I have ever seen a gingerbread jet before. I will post pics of the boys finished pieces later.

This kid cracks me up. I totally got the hang of the icing bag.
Em always has the look of determination on his face. And man does he get mad when it does not work like he is planning. I always have to talk him back to the table.
Ay was just happy that Papa was there to help him out. He really likes the way it turned out.

My house took about 2 weeks. It is 20 inches tall, 18 inches wide and 11 inches deep. It lights up and you can look into rooms through the windows. Gingerbread, fondant, Necco's, M&M's, Redhots, Peppermint Sticks, wheew. Now I'm ready to make another.

Here is a shot before it was totally finished, but it gives you an idea of how big it is. I love this photo because all of my guys have the cutest smiles.

What a way to start off the Holiday Season.

That is beautiful, Tara. I am so impressed. The patience it must have taken to do that is incredible!
