Capote Lake

For Labor Day weekend we decided to do another camping trip. Now that we have the trailor we want to go use it more and more. So we went to a little lake called Capote Lake near Pagosa Springs. It is owned by the Ute and they started fixing it up and were going to put a casino on it. Thankfully they didnt because it is very peaceful (except when O was whinning and crying), the lake is beautiful and the campground is clean. All we did was fish. The boys were determined to catch us dinner both nights (1st night was unsuccessful). Greg spent most of his time fixing broken fishing poles, and releasing little fish that were too small to eat. We spent part of an afternoon in Pagosa and we realized there aint much in that little town (unless you go to the hot pots). Overall we had a good time, it will definatly be on the list to go back to.

Here is a great view of the lake. If you click on it and make the photo big you can see Greg and the boys fishing off the peer.

Here's my boys and our cute little house!

Greg (being the boy scout that he is) makes us keep out campsite trash free! It's usually cleaner when we leave than when we got there.

Here's the boys getting ready to fish. OK boys.... catch some dinner!

This is O pouting.... dad was too busy helping the older boys get set up and wasnt ready for him. He was not happy about having to wait.

Nothin' yet!

Fishing off the peer. I just knew I'd go swimming for O so I made sure my camera was NOT in my pocket. To my suprise, I never had to jump in after him!

Love this of Em and Ay

While in Pagosa we found O a little fishing pole. It was Sponge Bob and it came with a little rubber Plankton on the end instead of a hook. He caugh a bunch of seaweed.

WooHoo, a fish. What is cuter than that smile? The giggle that came with it while he reeled it in.

After 8 hours of fishing and after telling him to not give up, Em caught a fish.

O finally touched the fish, "mom fish!"

Here is the biggest of the 9 fish Greg caught! Just Kidding, he caught 9 fish under 5 inches long, this on being the smallest. He left this one on the hook and used it as bait.

1 cast later he caught this one!

Boys eatting breakfast, nothin like warm cinn rolls on a chilly morning.

The fish gutting process was funny to watch, my boys get grossed out so easy. They all pretty much lost thier appetite after this.

When O would get bored watching the boys fish, I would let him drive around the lake.

This is what we saw, the wild flowers were pretty so we worked on learning our colors.

The last night we were there we fished to this amazing sunset.

This is my favorite photo

As O and I drove around, I thought I'd film him driving. I did not see what he had done till I watched the video. I thought he turned around because he heard me filming him. It will make you giggle I bet!

This is what O thinks of the whole fish gutting process.

I love those pictures! What a nice camping spot. I've never heard of that place. I can definitely see the benefits of having a trailer.
