Easter 2010

It seems that with each Holiday I get caugth off guard. I know that the each holiday is coming but it seems to "be here" before I know it. Usually we dye eggs days before Easter and the boys have 100's of hunts before Easter actually gets here. This year we managed to get it done on Friday night. There was no school, but I had class, we went to a movie, I had to do the bookwork at the Gallery, Em had a make up soccer game, and we had to go to the grocery store to get the eggs and dye. But we did it and had fun.... well most of us did anyway.
The night started great, we were all excited to get our hands dirty.

It was tough for the (almost) 2 year old to not play with the dye. He thought the dye tablets were candy, but didnt like the way they tasted. YUCK! His mouth was VERY green for a bit. Love this shot and the next. I also like Em's face saying "ooh, mom he's really upset!"

"Peez mommy!" So we let him stir the dye a little longer.
Sometimes it is hard to say no to his lip. Em is teaching O to stir the dye, Ay is paying close attention.
He wanted to be an egg!

Finished product. Notice how we only ended up with 2 pink ones and a bunch of green and blue.
I did these 2, so of course they are my favorite.

Easter morning. The boys followed the grass trail to the back door. I have not been the Easter Bunny for 8 years. My neighbor who LOVES my boys, leaves them baskets of goodies on the back porch every year. It is fun to be just as suprised as they are.
Checkin' out the loot, O was on the table checkin out stuff and sampling for an hour.
Say Cheese... or maybe I should say "CHOCOLATE", or sugar crash, or something.
Picture of the day!

That is a great documentary of the Easter Egg dying process. For some reason that is always my least fav part. (the reason is the mess, obviously) We didn't even do it this year! Glad you guys had a great Easter!
