Life At The Gallery

If you were to tell someone that you go to work with your mom everyday at an Art Gallery, they would probably think it was kind of boring. But life at the gallery is anything but boring. There is all sorts of things to do at the gallery.
The boys love to play on the big table. Which is right in the middle of things. They play cars, color, play with toys and it is also our lunch table.

O is ALL over the place now and I am realizing there are more and more things to baby proof. There is about 2 hours in the day where I dont have to worry about where he is. He is tucked away under the table sound asleep. He loves his soft doggy bed under my moms table.

This is the other half of my office. One side has my computer and files and all the "stuff" that comes with running a business. The other side is pure fun! It is two stories, the top has a bed, TV, and books. The best part..... the boys can draw all over the walls!

The downstairs has a table where the boys can paint or whatever. O uses it to sit and play with his Weeble Wabbles. There is books and toys and all kinds of goodies.

I didn't get a picture of the boys working on the computer at the store but I did get a picture of them watching Em play a driving game. Love it, with all of them in thier red shorts just so zoned on Em and his game.

My mom is really upset about this but Dwight was the first one to put a paintbrush in O's hand. He had so much fun but then got a little crazy. Dwight is great, he has let all of the boys paint with him. He will turn the painting over that he is working on and they paint away. Then when they get bored, they hop off his lap and he turns the paper over and starts paining again. Some of his painting have Em and Ay origianls on the back. He is such a sweetheart.
The boys also like to work in the shop. My dad built them a little work space with a table. The have saws, hammers, glue, sandpaper all kinds of fun stuff. If they need something cut (and they can't do it with a saw) they mark the board with a pencil and I will cut it in the bandsaw for them. Em has made all kinds of guns and planes for himself and for Ay. We have also made them a wall where they can display thier artwork that they do. They even make some of it for sale. It makes them feel like they are a part of things and they tell everyone that they are artists! The older boys help me stock the shelves in the Chile Store and they will even dust and mop. So that is our day at the Gallery. Or at least it is the routine in the summer. Now there is 4 1/2 hours of quiet with the older boys being at school. It is a great place to grow up.
